The design solution is an investment plan that enables to get the quickest result in the shortest possible period of time.
By adding the design solution to the technologies and the development capacity of the corporation, the corporation is enabled to create high-value added products. We will produce by utilizing design as a strategy to empower the management rather than narrowly interpreting “design” as mere color and shape.

Producing the local industries by “branding” or brand management

There are a number of local industries in Japan. We will produce “branding” based on the collaborative associations, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as consortium of multiple companies for regional developments. Branding enhances appeal of the already attractive line of product. We will be committed to, in cooperation with the participating companies and the members, expand the distribution routes to nationwide as well as overseas.

The sample cases of “branding”include; Echizen Uchi Hamono “iiza”(Moto-Echizen Japan) of Fukui prefecture, “Hyakunen-Monogatari” in Niigata prefecture, and “TOKYO CRAFTS&DESIGN 2012” of Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, where traditional craftsmen in Tokyo and designers worked together.

“Design for solution” is the philosophy of Hers. To expand possibility that “design”would generate, we propose problem solving projects, new-eco, as well as methodology of adding value on products to consumers and users using multiple media such as conference, competitions, museums, and publications.

The examples of the multiple media include social design conference, eco-design competition, and Kansei Kachi Souzoh Museum.

Seminar/workshop to learn knowhow of using “design” as a strategy

Aside from engaging in specific product development, Hers conducts seminars for the concept and knowhow of product development. The diverse participants including business owners, planning and development managers, investors, administrators, local industry workers, associations/organization members and students learn in a form of lecture and workshop about “design” not merely as tangible designs such as colors and shapes, but as one of the development methods that could achieve an effect in a shortest period of time.

It is a product planning method where we observe the users’ behavior under certain conditions to find out defects and discrepancies of the products (that we call “bugs”) and extract issues to be solved. The participants learn knowhow from fact patterns.

The participants learn “design” not as a preference category such as colors and shapes of an object, but as a content investment that should be advanced according to the purpose.
